Our handy cheat sheet for matching suits and shoes.
As experts in custom-made clothing and designs, we’d love to share some of our favourite colour combinations and offer you a cheat sheet to matching your suit colour with your shoe colour. We’ll guide you through different suit and shoe colour combinations so that you don’t leave your home feeling like something just doesn’t look right or unsure of your colour choices!Matching Shoes with Suit
Blue Suits
Believe it or not but a blue suit is actually considered a neutral colour and can match with any colour shoe you’d like!
For a more formal look – try a blue suit with a black shoe. For a more casual night out with friends, a white sneaker will up your style game – you are sure to get compliments.
Matte black, chocolate brown and tan shoes are most often matched with blue suits, but wearing blue shoes – or perhaps a more colourful loafer – with a blue suit will give you the chance to be creative and show off your personality by way of your shoe choice.
Grey Suits
We’d recommend a black shoe with a grey suit for a sleek, professional look but navy blue, medium and chocolate browns look great as well.
Brown Suits
Black and navy blue shoes look sharp with brown suits and are some of our favourite colour combinations.
If you feel like you have no other choice than to wear a brown shoe, make sure it’s a different shade of brown from your suit – we try to avoid matching similar browns at all costs.
I think it’s safe to say that most men own at least one pair of black shoes and one pair of brown shoes – these staple shoe colours go well with most clothing. If you’ve got this then you’re good to go!
If you decide to jazz up your wardrobe and say, go for a maroon suit – talk about a unique choice – we’d recommend pairing it with navy shoes (our favourite as you can see above) or black shoes.
If you’re looking to change up your shoe game, we LOVE the navy shoe look. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you want a pair of dress shoes that will take your style to a whole new level.
